The quote is trying to say that doing wrong will never give you the satisfaction that is found in doing something right. When you do something wrong you may feel a twinge of satisfaction, but there is no doubt that you will feel worse than you would’ve felt if you had done something right. Sometimes this doesn’t apply because sometimes people are sadists, but that is a completely different story. I can’t think of many examples but I am sure that you can imagine one.
