Student Success Statement
“He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a
companion of fools suffers harm.”
Proverb
What this proverb means is that
if you surround yourself with good people you will become better overall, but
if you hang out with the wrong crowd then you start to become a bad person. I completely
agree with this proverb, it is very simple yet truthful. The people you choose
to hang out with will have an effect in who you are as a person. Their qualities
will eventually integrate into your own personality. So if you hang out with
good people, their goodness will start to rub off on you. Same goes for if you
hang out with bad people. But one thing we should remember is that these
qualities that you gain will not last forever. We shouldn't judge someone based
on who they used to hang out with, because those qualities that come from their
past friends may disappear.
