This quote is saying that it is better to fail honestly than to succeed dishonestly. I agree with this quote because it is true that if you win by cheating or being deceitful then it is not an actual win. If you lose but you are being truthful and honest then that means you tried your hardest and that is just as good as winning. This quote reminds me of a saying, “Rather to be hated than loved for what you are not.” I like that saying because it is true, why would you pretend to be someone else to be loved when you yourself are not being loved? Gaining by dishonesty is not gaining at all.
