“Every time I’ve done something that doesn’t feel right, it’s ended up not being right.”
Mario Cuomo

I think this quote means that if you think that something you are about to do is wrong then you shouldn’t do it. You cannot play the fool and act as if what you are doing is right. You have to find the courage to avoid this act. If you have already done this act then you must find the courage to accept the consequences. Usually people ignore the rules of right and wrong, but you need to fight the temptation of ignorance and accept that you need to do what is right.
Cytotechnologist CPCC

Cytology is the study of cells. Cytologists examine different cells by using a microscope to patiently study and classify the cell. They work on a wide range of cells including cancer cells and inflammatory cells. In order to be a cytotechnologist one must be patient, observant, detail oriented, and an individual thinker. All of those qualities are foreign to me. I do not think it would suit me to be a cytotechnologist. I would most definitely screw everything up. But this career is definitely interesting, to me at least.

“Only I can change my life. No one can change it for me.”
Carol Burnett

I think this quote means that the life decisions you make are yours and only yours, and that no one else can take blame for them or change them. I agree with this quote up to a certain point. While I do believe that the decisions you make are your own fault and responsibility, I also believe that someone else’s actions can alter or influence the choices that you will make. Everything can alter or influence your choices that you will make later on, actually. Every little action, event, or choice that you or someone else makes will affect your future in some way. Even if you make your life what it is and the actions you make are yours alone, some sort of choice started the chain reaction that is your life. And some set of events has guided it until where it is today.

“Goodness is the only investment that never fails.”
Henry David Thoreau

I think that the quote can mean that if you invest in being a good person by committing yourself to being good, then you will not fail yourself. I think this quote is pretty simple but means a lot. If you stay a good person for a long time then you won’t have to be afraid of failure. I would think that investing in not being good, wouldn't be such a good idea.

“There is no pillow so soft as a clear conscience.”
French Proverb

I think this means that having a clear head is more comforting than having a guilt ridden mind. This quote is using a sort metaphor by saying that a clear conscience is as relaxing and as soothing as having a very soft pillow. I think this is true, if you have a clear head then you won’t be as un-relaxed as you would be if your mind was being weighed down by negative thoughts. An example would be if you did something wrong and you felt extremely guilty about it, your mind would be guilt ridden and you wouldn’t be at ease. If you confessed your crimes then you would be soothed.

“I shall pass through this life but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it; for I shall never pass this way again.”
ANON

I think that this quote means that you will only pass through this life once and you won’t get any second chances at this life. And by that logic, we should always do our best to be good, so when we look back at our life, we know that we did the most that we could in this world. We only have one chance in this world and what is the point in living it if we don’t choose to be the best we can be.

“You have only always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”
Robert E. Lee

I think this means that you always have the choice to do what is right. There is never a time where the right choice is not present. Also as you do it more, you will begin to find it easier to do these acts. The more you do them, the more you get used to these acts of right. The same goes for doing the wrong. The more wrong choices you do, the more you get used to them and the more they get easier. Also the more you do these acts of rightness, the more they feel good. You begin to feel that your conscience has been fed. Not only will you feel good inside though, you might also get gifts from people that appreciate your acts. They may be physical gifts or verbal gifts. All gifts are good. Unless they are from your grandma. Knit sweaters aren’t good gifts.

“Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the magic keys to living your life with integrity.”
W. Clement Stone

I think this quote means that everyone should have the courage to reject wrong things, such as drugs, alcohol, addiction, etc. Also the quote is saying that we should have the courage to face the truth to our problems. Without the courage to look at the truth to these problems, we deny ourselves the solutions.

“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it”
Marcus Aurelius

I think this quote is simple and self-explanatory. So the theme of all these quotes is “choose the right”. The first half of this quote is basically another way of saying that. The second half of the quote is saying not to lie. Obviously we all lie. Everyone in the world has at least told some form of lie for some type of reason, may it be good or bad. I lie, of course. I lie a lot. BUT I do not lie for the wrong reasons. I do not lie to hurt anybody nor do I lie to conceal information that would be important to someone. I only lie to encourage someone, compliment someone, even to save time on telling the truth. Lying is only bad when you make it bad. But of course it is viewed as negative, so for all intents and purposes—Lying is bad! Don’t do it, its evil.
The Honest Four

Four students from Patterson University “broke into” a convenient store but turns out not to be a break in at all. The four students simply walked in because the front door was unlocked and the lights were on. The students found no one handling the register so they simply left the money for their items on the counter. They even left some extra for taxes.  They were later tracked down and rewarded with gift cards. To me, I thought this event was pretty neat. I’m surprised that this happened. They were four grown men, who could easily overpowered anyone in their way, and they also attended university, and we all know how tight money can be in a university. If I were in that situation I probably would've stolen something small and paid for something else so I wouldn't feel bad about it. But I wouldn't pay taxes.

Most chiropractors establish a private practice and some provide home treatments. Others form group partnerships in clinics or chiropractic hospitals.
Average Salary: $30,000 -$100,000

“I have three messages:
(1)       We should never, ever give up.
(2)       You are never too old to chase your dreams.
(3)       It looks like a solitary sport, but it takes a team.”
Diana Nyad, American Swimmer

I think that the first message is a good message. We should never give up on any task or challenge, unless it will endanger our or someone else’s physical or mental health. The second statement is a great message as well. Age shouldn't matter when you are trying to fulfill a dream. Of course as we get older our physical health starts to weaken so we shouldn't do something that we know we wouldn't be able to handle physically. The third message is true because usually you can never accomplish something huge without the help from others. Sometimes we don’t want to accept that we might need the help of others but we still need it otherwise. Whether it be direct support towards your goal or just moral support, we can’t do everything on our own.
