“There is no giant step that does it. It’s a lot of little steps.”

ANON

This quote is saying that you cannot just change your life or conduct a miracle in one swift move, it takes time and effort. I agree with this quote because you cannot take the shortcut in life and expect the best, you must earn the best. You must work for it. You shouldn’t get rewarded for doing close to nothing, you should be rewarded for doing close to everything.
Recreation Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities: Recreational therapists plan, direct, and coordinate recreation based treatment programs for people with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Recreational therapists use a variety of modalities, including arts and crafts, drama, music, and dance, sports, games, and community reintegration field trips to help maintain or improve a patient’s physical, social, and emotional well-being.
Salary: $43,000
Education: Most recreational therapists need a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy. Though less common, associate’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees are also available. Recreational therapy programs include courses in assessment, human anatomy, medical and psychiatric terminology, characteristics of illnesses and disabilities, and the use of assistive devices and technology. Bachelor’s degree programs usually include an internship.

Reflection: I would not like to become a recreation therapist because it sounds awful. I am not the type of person who would enjoy finding different ways of helping different people. It’s just not who I am.

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”

William Penn

This quote is stating that even if everyone is saying that something is right, that doesn't mean it is and vice versa. I agree with this quote but sometimes when everyone thinks one thing, it ought to be true. But this does not mean always, so really the only way to know if something is right or wrong you need to personally look at it and analyze how you feel about it without influence from society or a large group of people. Some examples would be religion, racism, human rights, feminism, homophobia, etc.
Thoracic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: Also known as Cardiothoracic Surgeons, they are doctors that specialize in surgically treating illnesses or injuries that afflict the heart, lungs, esophagus, and major blood vessels. It is a highly specialized field because thoracic surgeons must have intense knowledge on the areas that they specialize in.
Salary: $400,000
Education: According to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, there are four steps to becoming a general thoracic surgeon: completion of any four-year degree (provided the coursework meets the prerequisites for entrance into medical school), four years in medical school, five years in a surgical residency program, and two to three years of advanced training in cardiothoracic surgery. After completing this training, thoracic surgeons become members of the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and further their understanding of selected specialties in thoracic surgery.

Reflection: I would not like to become a Thoracic surgeon because I do not have any interest in this field of work. I also do not have the required qualities of a surgeon nor do I wish to obtain them. So there is no reason for me to become a thoracic surgeon.

“Let us have faith that right makes right, and in that faith let us to the end dare to do our duty as we understand it.”

Abraham Lincoln

I am pretty sure this means that doing the right will result in good things so because of that we should always view doing the right as something we should always do regardless instead of viewing it as a chore. I totally agree with this quote because it is important to do good things and you shouldn't view them as chores. That is what an advanced society gets you, viewing good things as bad things. You get me?
Radiation Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: Radiation Therapists duties include explaining treatment plans to patients, follow safety procedures to protect the patient and themselves from overexposure to radiation, examine machines to ensure if they are working properly, x-ray the patient to determine the exact location of the area requiring treatment, check computer programs to make sure the machine will give the correct dose of radiation to the appropriate area of the patient's body, operate the machine to treat the patient accurately, monitor patients to see if they are responding positively to treatment, and keep detailed records of treatments.
Salary: $22,000 - $36,000
Education: Although candidates may qualify by completing a 12-month certificate program, employers usually prefer to hire applicants who have an associate’s degree or a bachelor's degree in radiation therapy. Radiation therapy programs include courses in radiation therapy procedures and the scientific theories behind them. These programs often include courses in human anatomy and physiology, physics, algebra, computer science, and research methodology.

Reflection: I would not like to be a radiation therapist because it seems a little bit dangerous. It’s like you are playing with fire, except its invisible and poisonous fire. Also I would think that you would have to be passionate about radiology to become a radiation therapist.

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon:
Self-respect, dignity, integrity, and self-esteem.”
Dr. Laura Schlessinger

This quote is basically saying that when you do something right you achieve a positive set of emotions and ideas. I completely agree with this quote it is even scientifically proven that when you do something that is viewed as good in your society you gained a feeling of pride and self-respect. Whenever you do something right you get these feelings to show that if was worth the effort and it is wise to continue doing these deeds so you can feel these emotions once again.
Psychologist
Duties and Responsibilities: Psychologists are interested in human behavior and they spend their careers observing and interpreting what different behaviors mean. They create theories and make observations about someone’s behavior in order to support these theories. Psychologists can use this knowledge of human behavior in several areas of specialization in the field—such as clinical psychology, forensic psychology and developmental psychology.
Salary: $45,000 - $65,000
Education: In order to become a licensed clinical or counseling psychologist, a doctorate degree is required. There are two types of doctorate degrees to choose from: the Ph.D. and the Psy.D. The traditional Ph.D. in Psychology degree is a research-focused degree that qualifies graduates to work in the field of clinical or counseling psychology. Earning a Ph.D. also qualifies psychologists to teach at the university level, conduct research and practice at mental health clinics, hospitals, schools, private industry, government and private practice. The Psy.D., or Doctor of Psychology, degree is a more practice-based educational model. Psychologists who earn a Psy.D. usually work as clinicians in mental health settings and may also work in private practice. It usually takes around five to seven years of graduate study to complete a doctoral degree in psychology. Those enrolled in Ph.D. programs complete a final dissertation that is based upon original research, while those enrolled in Psy.D. programs may complete more clinical work and examinations instead of a dissertation. Counseling and clinical psychology programs also require an internship that usually lasts one

Reflection: I would definitely become a psychologist if I could. Finally the post I have been waiting for. Yeah. I would like to become a psychologist in the future.

“Right is only right when entire.”
Victor Hugo

The quote is explaining that something is only right and true if it is in entirety. I agree with this because it is very true. A really good and simple example is if you are asked to tell the truth and instead you only tell part of the truth and leave out something important, you are still lying because not choosing to explain the whole truth is wrong. A truth is only a truth when it is in entirety.

“That which we in doing becomes easier to do, not that the nature of the thing has changed but that our power to do has increased.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

This statement is basically saying that when we do something over and over again, we get better at doing it. Obviously this is true because in order to learn something that involves memory (physical as well as mental) we need to repeat the process of learning until we have perfected the subject at hand.  An example would have to be when I tried to learn a song on the piano. I learned the song in parts to make it easier. As I learned a part, I played it over and over again until I played that part without any mistakes or pauses. Once I learned the part, I went on to the next part, and after I learned all the parts I practiced playing the whole song without making any mistakes. I have forgotten the song since then but at least I memorized the entire thing at one point.
Psychiatrist

Duties and Responsibilities: Psychiatrists will do a variety of things to help their patients. They will analyze and evaluate patient data and test or examination findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder, prescribe and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders and collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress. They will also gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals, counsel outpatients and other patients during office visits. Design individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments, and examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patient to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder. They will also advise and inform guardians, relatives, and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment, review and evaluate treatment procedures and outcomes of other psychiatrists and medical professionals, and teach, conduct research, and publish findings to increase understanding of mental, emotional, and behavioral states and disorders.
Salary: $90,000 - $200,000
Education: In addition to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in psychiatry.

Reflection: I would most definitely like to become a psychiatrist. My obsession is in psychology and I would like to become a professional in this field. Whether or not I want to delve in the career of psychiatry is a question I have to ask myself.

When You Tell One Lie
Paul Hatch
When you tell one lie, it leads to another
So you tell two lies to cover each other
Then you tell three lies and, Oh Bother,
You’re in trouble up to your ears!

So you tell four lies to try to protect you
Then you tell five lies so folks won’t suspect you
Then you tell six lies and you’ll collect
A life filled with worries and fears

‘Cause you can’t remember how many lies you’ve told
And half the things you say aren’t true
And sometime you’ll slip up, you’ll trip up and then
Whatever will become of you?

So you lie and lie without even trying
And each lie you tell will keep multiplying
‘Till the whole wide world will know you’re lying
Then you’ll be
Suspected
Detected
Rejected
Neglected
Disliked
And you should!
When you lie, you’re closing the door

On everything good

“Your worth consists in what you are and not in what you have.”

Thomas Edison

This quote is stating that you are not worth the possessions you own, you are only worth on the person that you are and the person you want to be. I agree with this statement because you are truly not worth the things you have or the money you own. Your true worth in this life is what kind of human being you are and what you strive to become. For instance, if money is the only important thing in your life, then you might want to reevaluate your life. If friends, family, charity, invention, knowledge, art, or making a change in the world the most important thing in your life, then you are truly worth wonders.

“The difference between impossible and possible lies in determination.”

Tommy Lasorda
This quote simply means that if you are determined enough, you can accomplish whatever you want. This is true because if you want something hard enough and you work equally as hard then you will achieve your goals ultimately.
Pharmacy Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Pharmacy technicians’ roles and responsibilities vary slightly depending on their work settings but primarily involve preparing medication, counting tablets and labeling medication bottles and containers, providing medication and healthcare products to patients amongst other duties. Assisting a licensed pharmacist, these roles are usually carried out in medical facilities such as hospitals and care homes, licensed retail and mail order pharmacy establishments.
Salary: $15,000 - $25,000
Education:
Certification from an industry organization – such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) – may be among the pharmacy technician requirements for many hiring companies. Applicants for pharmacy technician jobs are expected to demonstrate proficiency in such skills as customer service, communication, basic math and attention to detail. Filling prescriptions correctly is critical, as customers’ health and safety depends on it; which is why precision is a matter of the utmost importance for pharmacy technicians

Reflection: I would not like to become a Pharmacy Technician because I am not passionate about pharmaceuticals or anything related to that.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
Henry David Thoreau

This quote is suggesting that you should always work for your goals in confidence and to never give up. If you continue to work for your dreams in confidence then you will succeed in completing them and making them your own.
Pharmacist

Duties and Responsibilities: Pharmacists serve patients and the community by providing information and advice on health, providing medications and associated services, and by referring patients to other sources of help and care, such as physicians, when necessary. Likewise, advances in the use of computers in pharmacy practice now allow pharmacists to spend more time educating patients and maintaining and monitoring patient records. As a result, patients have come to depend on the pharmacist as a health care and information resource of the highest caliber.
Salary: $33,000 - $51,000
Education: All pharmacists must graduate from a college of pharmacy.  Most pharmacy schools require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (P-CAT), and some require up to two years of pre-pharmacy education.  Other colleges will admit students directly from high school.
Reflection: I would not like to be a Pharmacist because that would require a lot of skill and memorization and I don’t think that I am passionate enough for any of it.
